Overview

Perform tests in a manner that compliments the patient and the practice. To record patients electrical impulses which are transmitted from the brain and nervous system, and report clinical finding to the appropriate physician in a timely manner.

Responsibilities

The primary duty of a neurodiagnostic technician is to perform all testing requested by a physician. The technician will gather a patients medical history, explain testing procedures, and prepare the patient for the procedure. Technicians monitor the patients status and notes any abnormalities. A technologist should be able to interpret and evaluate clinical data and information. Must be able to work in changing environments and adapt to less than optimal situations with ease. Must work with physicians as well as patients and family members in explaining the testing procedure and the results that are trying to be obtained. Must be able to maneuver through computer and testing equipment with knowledge of report printing and equipment. Must be able to maintain a professional attitude and outlook on testing and further results.

Qualifications

  1. High school graduate or equivalent required.
  2. Current MT Heartsaver AED CPR required.
  3. Knowledgeable of the nervous system, human anatomy and physiology required.
  4. Ability to communicate well, both verbally and written, with all levels of healthcare professionals and patients.
  5. Ability to take instructions and follow through with attention to detail.
