    We are in search of an RN who is a teacher at heart, has a love for people, and embraces technology.  In this role, you will act as a liaison between the Nursing and the Information Technology worlds.  You will be responsible for the promoting, planning, developing, and coordinating the education of the Ambulatory clinical staff in regards to the Electronic Medical Record.

    The RN - HIT Clinical Systems Educator position designs and implements an orientation and staff development program that facilitates performance competence and the attainment of standards of care consistent with KRH’s mission. Primarily responsible for planning and coordinating classes and activities for clinical staff in Acute Care areas, Pathways, Brendan House, and Ambulatory Clinics.  Assists clinical staff to acquire, maintain and/or expand unit-specific and bedside competence in software applications.


    1. *Exceeds clinical practice standards and serves as a role model for nursing specialty.
    2. *Performs formal needs assessments and collects other pertinent information to identify priority learning needs and outcomes.
    3. *Plans and develops educational strategies to meet identified needs and desired outcomes.
    4. *Implements courses, tools and resources to carry out education plans.
    5. *Teaches and trains using principles of learning and effective methodologies.
    6. *Evaluates actual learning outcomes, individual competency and program effectiveness in relation to desired outcomes.
    7. *Creates professional training documentation and improves or augments existing training material as necessary.
    8. *Serves as catalyst for change by assisting individuals and groups with input, feedback, solutions and learning integration within organization. Facilitates initiation of, adoption of and adaptation to change.
    9. *Exhibits leadership behaviors by supporting and collaborating with organization and administrative structures, as well as, manages resources to achieve departmental and organization goals.
    10. *Understands computer applications and clinical workflow processes, determines problem areas and communicates those issues to Nursing Informatics System Analyst, HIT and/or supervisor as appropriate.
    11. *Maintains education program documentation, records and files in accordance with organization policy and regulatory expectations.
    12. *Maintains ongoing personal and professional education.


    1. Current Montana RN license required. BSN preferred.
    2. Strong understanding of common software applications (ex. MS Office) required.
    3. Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) required, Meditech preferred.
    4. Nursing Informatics Certification preferred.
    5. Current Healthcare Provider CPR/AED required.
    6. Minimum of two (2) years of recent clinical, teaching, supervisory and/or informatics experience preferred.
    7. Experience with Meditech Patient Care System (PCS), Bedside Medication Verification (BMV), Order Entry, Meditech Web Ambulatory, Meditech MPM, and/or eClinicalWorks (eCW) preferred. Experience with computer-based training programs in Acute or Ambulatory setting preferred.
    8. Must possess excellent communication, teamwork and customer service skills.
