    Job Objective: Meet Kindergarten guidelines to promote physical, mental, social, and educational levels of development by planning and implementing curriculum, classroom schedule, lessons/plans and other instructional materials to meet the individual needs of students attending the school program.




    *1. Performs all required school paper work and documentation without reminder including, but not limited to:  bi-weekly parent newsletter, goals and objectives, incident reports, and student evaluation, progression, and behavior data.  Progress reports will be sent home twice a year during the second and fourth quarters.  
    *2. On a daily basis, creates an environment conducive to both child development and learning including, but not limited to: classroom educational planning and implementation, lesson material preparation, daily child schedule needs, nutritional needs and appropriate classroom dress.
    *3. The teacher role-models professional leadership in the class room at all times, including but not limited to: timely development of lesson planning (lesson plans submitted on Friday the week before they are taught), professional communication using appropriate tone and tact in all situations, and division of responsibilities including shared recess responsibilities.
    *4. Establish and maintain Montessori classroom culture through lesson plans that are individualized to meet the needs of the children attending Kindergarten. 
    *5. The teacher understands and represents the Individualized Education Center (IEC) Kid Kare mission statement and core values as evidenced by daily practice methods and appropriate team participation. 
    *6. The employee will positively look for ways to assist students, team members and parents, never saying “it’s not my job.” 
    *7. The employee proactively notices items that need to be completed and follows through without reminder. (example: scheduling and ordering of supplies per budgeted numbers must be done at the end of each school year, Montessori material upkeep, toy maintenance, room preparedness, and housekeeping duties). 
    *8. The teacher participates in activities which add value to unit objectives and flow without request, such as program (process) improvement projects and community related initiatives which relate to educational endeavors.
    *9. The teacher is vigilant of unit specific and organizational wide budget constraints, as demonstrated by appropriate utilization of all resources, which includes but is not limited to: supply usage, low census, and timeliness of work product.  A supply list must be submitted to the manager on or before the last day of school for the following academic year.
    *10. The employee can be relied upon to maintain a fair and consistent approach to staff and student instruction as evidenced by limited student/staff turnover and minimal staff, student and parental complaints.
    *11. The teacher outlines and coordinates successful teaching methods as evidenced by student preparedness for the next level of education.
    *12. The teacher will be expected to attend all staff meetings, parent-teacher conferences (held the first and third quarters), Kindergarten graduation, and student programs. 
    *13. The teacher will be responsible to schedule all extra-curricular activities such as, swimming, field trips, or guest presenters, and special days celebrated in class.




    1. AA or BS Degree in Education, Child Development Associate (CDA), or Montessori certification and minimum of two years experience in a similar position teaching 3-6 year olds preferred.  Other combinations of education and experience may be considered.
    2. Heartsaver AED CPR certified required.
    3. Basic First Aid required.  Pediatric First Aid preferred.
    4. Ability to work with, relate to, and teach young children.
    5. Excellent communication and customer relation skills.
